Group therapy meetings can be open or closed. We offer both.
- In open groups, new members can join the group at any time.
- In a closed group, all members join at the same time. Only they participate in the sessions.
How many people are in the group?
Small groups may offer more time to focus on each individual in the sessions. Bigger groups offer further diversity and more perspectives. Sessions duration will depend on the number of members in the group.
What is the focus of group counselling/therapy?
Groups focus on the same issues as one on one counselling/psychotherapy/nutritional therapy.
How much should I share?
Confidentiality is an integral part of the ground rules for group therapy. However, there's no guarantee of privacy when sharing with others, so use common sense when divulging personal information. That said, remember that you're not the only one sharing your own story. Groups work best where there is open and honest communication between members.
